Transforming Family Caregiving Through Data

Watching my mother decline has been gut-wrenching. As she transitions through each stage, it becomes overwhelming for me. But this is my role, and I am honored to walk this journey with her. Receiving resources from various agencies has helped me tremendously because I can’t work full-time and provide the care she needs.

I am a medically complex mom caring for my son and daughter, both with rare genetic disorders. The role is often isolating, overwhelming, and emotionally exhausting. I’ve learned that seeking support is vital—not just for survival, but for strength. Prioritizing your well-being is essential to sustaining long-term caregiving.

It’s scary being thrown into caregiving. But not for one second do I regret it. Being self-employed allowed me to pick my own work schedule but it also meant I was not working. Caregivers need peace of mind knowing they can provide the care their partner needs without having to worry about their finances.
